PP / EVOH / PE packaging are mainly used for packaging fresh products (meat and fish), mainly highlighting their properties as a gas barrier, together with their heat-sealing capacity.
This is a multi-layer laminate material composed of:
PP plastic (polypropylene) is used as the structural base of the packaging with high mechanical and thermal resistance.
EVOH lamination mainly provides high impermeability to the transfer of gases and steam.
The PE plastic layer is mainly used to improve the heat-sealing processes.
Its use is mainly focused on the manufacture of heat-sealable for food use in which the products require the incorporation of a high-barrier to gases, packaged with a protective atmosphere.
UnlikePP / EVOH / PP plastic, it is not recommended to use this packaging for those foods that require thermal preservation processes (pasteurization, sterilization, autoclave, etc.).
